The Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing global and civic engagement. As the largest speakers’ forum in Southern California, we deliver a robust slate of programming on local, national, and global affairs in order to promote an enriching dialogue for our members and the public to understand the connection between Los Angeles and the world.
Recent speakers have included retired General David Petraeus, NPR Correspondent Nina Totenberg, former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, Fiona Hill.
The LAWACTH Interns will work across our organization to help with event preparation, on-site event support, program research, and operational needs. The intern will develop insight into producing live public programs, as well as nonprofit communications and management. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strategic mind, strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively. They will be collaborative and someone who thrives in a fast paced, results-oriented environment. This person should be a highly motivated and organized. They should be passionate about global affairs, civic discourse, and educational programming.
