Join us on Tuesday, December 1st as we welcome the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Korea and Japan of the US Department of State, Marc Knapper. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. John Park, Director of the Korea Project at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and Senior Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Korean Studies Institute.
South Korea and Japan have been strong allies of the United States for decades, with mutual political, economic, and security interests. Increasingly, all three countries face unique yet interrelated pressures from China and North Korea. How are the three countries working together to address these challenges? When it comes to each countries’ own political, economic, and national security interests — what must be done to maintain and strengthen unilateral and multilateral relations among the three? Mr. Knapper and Dr. Park will grapple with these pressing questions, while also addressing how each respective country is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, regional economic strains, and national security threats.
Thank you to our webinar sponsor, the Korea Foundation.
