During this time, as our local and global communities face great challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are dedicated to delivering free, public programming that connects our audiences with global subject expects. To support our ongoing costs, we look to member and participant donations.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the “CARES Act”) passed by Congress on March 25, 2020 contains provisions that promotes charitable giving to organizations like us. Section 2204 of the CARES Act allows taxpayers that do not itemize their deductions to deduct up to $300 in cash contributions from their adjusted gross income. For individuals who itemize, Section 2205 increases the limitations on deductions for charitable contributions from 60% to 100% of adjusted gross income. For corporations the limitation is raised from 10% to 25% of taxable income.
If you have attended our programs or simply wish to support our mission, please consider making a completely tax-deductible donation and we will be happy to issue you a letter acknowledging your contribution. We deeply appreciate your generosity if you are able to contribute, and thank you for your ongoing support of the Council.
